Mash-up: The Hood Internet | Xaphoon Jones

Mash-ups! They're not everybody's cup of tea, and they can be very hit and miss...

I'm a fan though! I was at a mash-up night in Base Bar on Wicklow Street once and I thought it was really good - it can be fun trying to recognise the songs. I also like to see a DJ do some actual jockeying of discs rather than just lining one song up after the next.

Alice kindly recommended The Hood Internet to me a few weeks ago. They post their new mash-ups to their blog and although I haven't heard many of their tracks yet, they've done some really cool stuff! Also, The White Panda are another popular mash-up group, I downloaded one of their mixtapes but haven't listened yet.
